Hi Visionaries, and Happy New Year 2026! 🎉
As we cross into a brand-new year, many of us are carrying both hope and heavy questions—the biggest one being: “How much longer, Lord?” Whether you’re waiting on healing, restoration, a relationship, a breakthrough, or clarity, the waiting season can feel like it’s never-ending. So today, let’s dive into something so many of us quietly wrestle with: Trusting God’s timing—what to do when you feel like you’re waiting forever.
Waiting Feels Hard Because We Like Control
Let’s be real: we live in a microwave world, but we serve a slow-roasting, master-chef kind of God. When things don’t happen now, we wonder if God has forgotten us. But Scripture reminds us over and over again:
- “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven” (Ecclesiastes 3:1).
- “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength…” (Isaiah 40:31).
God is not slow—He’s strategic. What looks like a delay to us is often divine development in disguise.
What Should You Do While You Wait?
1. Be Honest With God About How You Feel
David, a man after God’s own heart, often cried out:
- “How long wilt thou forget me, O Lord? forever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?” (Psalm 13:1)
God welcomes your questions, your weariness, your wondering. He doesn’t just want your praise—He wants your honesty.
2. Anchor Yourself in the Word
When timelines disappoint, let the Word of God remind you of the truth:
- “For the vision is yet for an appointed time… though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” (Habakkuk 2:3)
His promises don’t have expiration dates. Meditate on them like daily bread.
3. Worship While You Wait
Worship realigns your focus from when will it happen to Who is holding it all together.
- Paul and Silas were in prison praising God at midnight—and that’s when the chains fell (Acts 16:25-26).
Praise Him now, not just for what’s coming, but because He’s already worthy.
4. Work What’s in Your Hands
Waiting on God’s timing doesn’t mean doing nothing—it means faithfully stewarding today while trusting Him with tomorrow.
- Ask: “What’s one thing I can do today to prepare for what I’m praying for?”
- If you’re waiting on a spouse—heal, grow, and deepen your walk with God.
- Waiting on a job or breakthrough? Develop skills, serve others, write the vision down.
5. Surround Yourself With Patience-Strengtheners
It matters who’s in your ear while you wait. Surround yourself with people who will remind you:
- “God is not a man, that he should lie… hath he said, and shall he not do it?” (Numbers 23:19)
- Be with those who speak life, not fear, into your delay.
What If Nothing Changes Soon?
If you don’t see movement quickly, don’t assume God isn’t working. Seeds grow in silence. Battles are won behind the scenes. Faith is forged in the fire of “not yet.”
And even when nothing looks different, you are changing—you’re growing in faith, maturity, and dependence on Him.
So let this be the year where instead of rushing God, you say:
“Lord, I trust You—even here. Even now. Even in the waiting.”
He’s not late. He’s preparing you. And when it finally happens, you’ll be ready.
And remember, a visionary mind nurtures a creative spirit. Let your vision guide you, keep your mission organized, and always keep creating. Until next time, stay visionary.
