Counter Series Part 1: Combating Stage 1 Through God’s Promises

Introduction

Hello again, dear readers! You’ve been through our comprehensive series on demonization and now you’re probably wondering: “What can we do about it?” Fear not, because we’ve prepared a counter-series, armed with God’s promises, to combat each stage. Let’s kick off with the first stage—Infestation.

God’s Promises Against Infestation

1. Holy Boundaries: The Bible says, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” – James 4:7 (KJV). By submitting to God, you build a spiritual boundary that demons can’t cross.

2. God’s Protection: “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” – Psalm 91:1 (KJV). Believe in God’s promise to protect you and make your home a sanctuary dedicated to Him.

Practical Steps to Combat Infestation:

1. Dedicate Your Space to God

Sometimes we have a house , an apartment, a shack, and sometimes we may dwell in other people’s living spaces. Either way, no excuse not to dedicate your space to God. Even if you have just one room where you sleep at night, take out the time and say a simple prayer drawn from the promises found in the king James version of the Bible. Although you don’t have to use this following suggested Prayer verbatim, here’s a start:

Dear Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I come before You with gratitude and love. Your Word in Psalm 91:1 says, ‘He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.’ I invite Your presence to fill this space and make it a secret place where You dwell.

I acknowledge Your Lordship over my life and my property. Your Word in Joshua 24:15 says, ‘…but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.’ I dedicate my home, my belongings, and all that is within my property lines to You, Lord. I declare that me and my house shall serve You.

Lord, Your Word in 2 Samuel 7:29 says, ‘Therefore now let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue for ever before thee.’ I ask for Your blessings to be upon this space, making it a sanctuary for Your Spirit.

Your Word in Isaiah 54:17 promises, ‘No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper.’ I claim this promise over my home, asking that no form of evil may prosper here.

I seal this prayer with the blood of Jesus Christ, for Your Word in Hebrews 9:22 says, ‘…and without shedding of blood is no remission.’ Thank you, Lord, for the ultimate sacrifice that allows me to come boldly to Your throne.

In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.”

This prayer, rooted in scripture, invokes God’s promises and dedicates your space to Him, seeking to create an environment resistant to any form of spiritual infestation.

*Scriptural Support*: “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” – Colossians 3:17 (KJV). Start by dedicating your space to God in prayer, thanking Him for His protection.

2. Remove Objects of Negative Influence

Sometimes we can have things both known and unknown weighing on us spiritually. As we saw in the earlier blogs, objects can carry spirits with them. With this being said sometime we don’t always know if something is in our space breeding negative influence or not. Here is a sample prayer to help locate such items:

Father God, I come to You in the name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. I praise You for Your omniscience, as nothing is hidden from Your sight. Your Word says in Hebrews 4:13, ‘Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.’

I pray, Lord, that You would illuminate my life and my surroundings. Help me identify objects, relationships, or influences that may be serving as footholds for negative spiritual activity. Your Word declares in Psalm 139:23-24, ‘Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.’

Lord, I choose to reject and remove all forms of idolatry from my life. Just as You commanded the Israelites in Exodus 20:4, ‘Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image,’ I commit to removing anything that takes Your rightful place in my life.

I ask for Your wisdom, according to James 1:5, which says, ‘If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.’ Guide me to recognize and remove any harmful influences.

I declare Your sovereignty and protection over my life, believing Your Word in Isaiah 41:10, ‘Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.’

I pray all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, who is my deliverance and my stronghold. Amen.”

This prayer invokes the scriptural promises of God’s wisdom, knowledge, and protection to help you identify and eliminate negative spiritual influences in your life

*Scriptural Support*: “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,” – 2 Corinthians 6:17 (KJV). Identify and remove any objects that might attract demonic infestation.
